Central Heating Myths

Before you jump to conclusion on the right and wrong answers for these myths, have a read and let us explain why they aren't entirely correct - Hopefully you find these points interesting!

An expensive Boiler means a better boiler

This misconception can be widely applied to many products. From mobile phones to designer fashion, people often associate price with value - A notion that isn't always entirely accurate. Apparently the same goes for boilers, leading many people to believe that the more expensive your boiler is, the better it will be. In fact, regardless of the price you paid for you boiler, having a Gas Safe registered engineer perform boiler servicing on your boiler is often a great way to keep your boiler in good condition.

Larger Radiators Are Better

Again, believe it or not, many people also think that larger radiators means better warmth. However, this isn't usually the case and if your system isn't producing enough heat it could indicate other problems or faults. In fact, having a Gas Safe registered engineer install bigger radiators for your home can actually cause your boiler to be overworked.

Larger Boilers Means More Heat

The third and final myth that we have corrected is that Bigger boilers means more heat. Again, this is simply a myth and whilst bigger boilers will push out more heat, if the radiators are quite small, the heat received will be the same as a smaller boiler. So, the biggest boiler doesn't necessarily mean more heat. With this in mind your boiler should and the entire system should correlate with the size of your property.
