Frequently asked questions about having a new boiler installed
What makes a having a new boiler installed worthwhile?
Lots of things! You’ll reap many benefits from having a new boiler installed in your home, including:
Saving money on your heating bills due to increased energy-efficiency.
Better boiler performance, so your rooms are toasty and your water is heated quickly.
Improved reliability due to new, advanced parts. Enjoy far less boiler down-time and plumber call-outs!
What type of boiler should I have installed?
You’ll have a range of boilers to choose from but the best one for your neighbour may not be the best one for you. The number of bathrooms you have, the size of your home and family and the amount of hot water you use will influence your decision. Depending on these factors and assuming your home is on the mains gas grid, most people choose a combi, regular or system boiler for their home.
How much will having a new boiler installed cost me?
Again, this depends on a few factors like the type of boiler and if everything, such as a water tank, is being installed for the first time. New boiler installations can cost from £1500 to over £3000, but your heating engineer should provide a full quote and price breakdown before you commit.
Should a Gas Safe registered engineer install my boiler?
Yes, without a doubt. Being Gas Safe registered means an engineer has proven their qualifications and experience in working with gas appliances and boilers. You shouldn’t let anyone work on your central heating system without this registration as they could risk your safety and cause damage to your home.
